Changes at the Community Services Division

September 8th, 2008 by Lt. Tom Slayton, CSB Commander

As you may already know, we have had a recent change of leadership  here with Captain Wilkerson heading to South Operations and Captain Eason stepping in to take his place. Captain Eason has expressed great enthusiasm for the assignment and is a true believer in the value of reserve and volunteer forces. What you probably don’t know, however, is that I am heading off to a new assignment, as well.

In the next few weeks, I will be transitioning to North Operations as a Patrol Watch Commander. This is an assignment that I have long hoped for and I look forward to the fresh challenges that it will bring. I have held my current position for three years now and in that time I hope I have moved this bureau forward. However, in an assignment like this, it is important to bring in fresh leadership every few years to help maintain a high energy level and to bring in new ideas. While my replacement has not yet been selected, I am confident that he/she will share my enthusiasm for this division, and respect for all of you.

Thank you all for your service these last few years and thank you also for your patience this summer as we weathered a difficult time in the public eye.

Sincerely,

Lt. Tom Slayton

Community Support Bureau Commander
