2008 Great Labor Day Cruise Event benefits Drug Use Is Life Abuse Program

October 17th, 2008 by Darrell, Community Programs

The twenty-sixth Annual Great Labor Day Cruise presented by the Orange County Cruisin’ Association sponsored a classic car giveaway with all proceeds benefiting Drug Use Is Life Abuse and its nationally recognized programs.

This year’s giveaway car was a 1965 Chevy Custom Pickup, donated by the Orange County Cruisin’ Association and their local affiliated businesses. This classic car was featured at the Great Labor Day Cruise that ran from August 30th through September 1st 2008, at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Thousands of people attended this event to view the beautiful vintage cars and for the ‘50s and 60s’ fans this was a “classic event” with plenty of nostalgia.

For the 21 years Drug Use Is Life Abuse has worked hard to break all boundaries and make a difference while reaching the residents of Orange County with information and programs on drugs, gangs, and violence.

Drug Use Is Life Abuse Executive Director Marilyn MacDougall, Orange County Deputies Scott Yuen, Colin Dadd, and Doug Woodward, staff from Orange County Sheriff’s Community Programs, NEXT STEP and Impact - Students Making a Difference, Professional Services Civilian Responders, and Orange County Sheriff Explorers helped to make the event a great success.
